# Pre-Workshop Requirements
## IBM FlashSystem Workshop

### Important: Action Required Before the Workshop

Dear Students,

To ensure a smooth and productive workshop experience, please complete the following requirements **before attending** the IBM FlashSystem workshop:

## 1. Bring Your Laptop

**You must bring your personal laptop to the workshop.** All hands-on exercises will be performed on your own device.

### Minimum Requirements:
- Windows, macOS, or Linux operating system
- Administrative privileges to install software
- Stable internet connection capability
- At least 2GB of free disk space

## 2. Install OpenVPN Client

**You must install the OpenVPN client software on your laptop before the workshop begins.**

### Download Links:

**For Windows:**
- Visit: https://openvpn.net/client/
- Download and install OpenVPN Connect for Windows

**For macOS:**
- Visit: https://openvpn.net/client/
- Download and install OpenVPN Connect for macOS
- Alternatively, download from the Mac App Store

**For Linux:**
- Ubuntu/Debian: `sudo apt-get install openvpn`
- Fedora/RHEL: `sudo dnf install openvpn`
- Or visit: https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/

### Installation Instructions:
1. Download the appropriate version for your operating system
2. Run the installer with administrative privileges
3. Follow the on-screen installation prompts
4. Complete the installation and restart your computer if prompted
5. **Do not configure any connections yet** - we will provide the necessary files during the workshop

## 3. VPN Credentials Distribution

**At the beginning of the workshop, you will receive:**
- VPN configuration certificate
- Your personal login credentials (username and password)
- Connection instructions

**Please do not attempt to configure the VPN connection before receiving these materials.**
